Step 1: Heat the VINYL Strap

Heat a large pot of water to just under the boiling point. Roll a strap and heat it in the pot for approximately two minutes. Remove the strap with a pair of tongs, and dry it with a towel.

Step 2A: Strapping - Single-wrap

Single-wrap method. Push a single-wrap pin thru each end of the vinyl strap. Position one end of the strap at a hole on the frame. Push the pin through the hole until it locks (Figure 1). Stretch the strap around the front to the corresponding hole on the right side
of the furniture (Figure 2); push the remaining pin through the hole on the backside of the frame, and lock it into place (Figure 3).

STEP 2B: STRAPPING - DOUBLE-WRAP

Double-wrap method. Push a double-wrap pin into each end of the strap. Position one end of the strap at a hole on the frame (Figure 1), and push the pin through the hole. Wrap the strap around the bar once (Figure 2), covering the double-wrap pin (Figure 3).

Stretch the strap around the front to the right side of the furniture below the corresponding hole (Figure 4), then wrap around the frame upward towards the hole (Figure 5). Push the pin into the hole (Figure 6). Adjust the strap (Figures 7 and 8).

Measure the width of the strap in the middle (Figure 1), not on the ends where it is attached to the frame. If it measures approximately 1 3/4", order 2" vinyl strap. If it measures approximately 1 1/4", order 1 1/2" vinyl strap.

Step 2A: Measure Length-Single Wrap

Single-wrap method. Place the tape measure at one hole and measure over the frame to the hole on the opposite bar following the placement of the strap. (Figure 2)

Step 2B: Measure Length-double Wrap

Double-wrap method. Place the tape measure at one hole and wrap the tape around the bar once (Figure 3). Let out the tape to the other side and wrap once around that bar following the placement of the strap.

Step 2C: Measure Length-Clip method

Metal clips. Place the tape measure where the strap attaches to the clip on one bar. Measure to the corresponding clip on the opposite bar.

Step 3: Calculate the Amount

Reduce the length of the strap measurement by 10%.
Examples:
23" length x .90 = 20.7" to order
29" length x .90 = 26.1" to order
Multiply the “to order” amount by the number of straps
for the total amount of vinyl strap to order.
